Probate Paralegal – Royal Oak, MI

he Probate Pro (www.TheProbatePro.com), a division of the Darren Findling Law Firm, PLC, is a growing probate, estate planning, and elder law firm with offices in Michigan, Illinois, and Ohio. The Probate Pro is seeking a paralegal for its Royal Oak, MI office. Candidate will be expected to cross-train in a variety of office functions and will work in a team environment. This is a very busy practice that thrives on hard-working, enthusiastic professionals.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Drafting, filing, and serving pleadings, including motions, petitions, orders, inventories, accounts, notices, and other probate-related pleadings
  • Communicating with clients, courts, and counsel, including scheduling and confirming appointments and hearing dates
  • Scanning and filing documents
  • Monitoring deadlines
  • Managing a caseload from start to finish with assistance from the supervising attorney

  • Adapts well to change and maintains a positive attitude under stress
  • Ability to multitask and stay focused on the most important and urgent issues

  • Computer skills, including Word, Excel, Outlook, Timeslips, Hot Docs, Adobe Acrobat, and Quickbooks
  • Ability to work overtime occasionally to meet deadlines

 

Preferred candidates may also have experience probating deceased estates, trust estates, handling guardianship and conservatorship matters, and litigation matters.
